This is the complete software package for learning arithmetic with diagnosis, a talking tutor, practice, homework and record-keeping.

• Diagnosis provides testing and placement. Use this activity to determine the best starting level, and to track progress in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills.
• Tutor shows how to solve an unlimited number of arithmetic problems. Choose the operation and difficulty level of the problems. Watch problems solved step by step, one number at a time. Talking is optional. Choose the speed of the demonstrations. Demonstrations include "manipulables" at the beginning skill levels in addition and subtraction.
• Practice makes randomly generated arithmetic problems to solve at the computer. The program tells if the answer is right or wrong and can be set to give the option to try again. The program can be set to guide where to place the numbers in stepped out solutions, or students can enter answers without a guide. Practice can be limited by time to encourage solving problems with greater speed and accuracy. Practice results can be printed to track progress.
• Assignment prints worksheets of arithmetic problems for homework away from the computer. Choose the operation, skill level, and number of problems.
• Check Assignment compares homework answers with the correct answers, and shows how the problem should be solved.
• Reports of progress track advancement through 52 skill levels. Math Skill Builders: Whole Number Arithmetic provides record keeping of results of diagnosis, practice, and assignment.
• Skill Level Definitions explain each arithmetic skill being learned. Arithmetic skill level definition lists, can be printed with and without example problems.
