Once you have a class list file, you can add names to a class list
two ways:
Add names one at a time in Class Manager: You can add new names to the class list at any time by repeating these steps: 1. Choose Add Name from the Edit menu. The Add New Student dialog will open.
Add New Student Dialog 2. Type first name and last name in the boxes, then click OK. The Add New Student Dialog stays open so you can keep adding names. Click cancel when you are done adding names. Import a class list of names created in another program: If you have a list of student names in another program, that you want to use in Class Manager, you can import that list if the other program will export a tab-delimited file. 1. Export a file of first and last names from another program. Create a tab-delimited file, and note where you save the file. 2. In Class Manager, choose Import Class List from the File menu. The Import Class List box will open.
Import Class List Dialog 3. Navigate to the file you saved to import and select it. You will be asked how the file was structured.
Import Class List Control 4. Choose last name first or first name first, depending upon how the file to be imported is structured. Click OK. If you have not yet named and saved this class list, you will be asked where to save the file, and what to name it. (Refer to the beginning of this section, Create New Class List. Once you have entered a list of names manually, or by importing the list, that list of student names will show in the Class Manager window. Each student in that list will now have a file.
Class List in Class Status View This is now an existing class list that you can open at any time, add student names, and record worksheet data for the students in the class. You are ready to check worksheets (See Checking Worksheets) for the students in this class. (See "Managing Class Data" for different ways to view class data after you have checked worksheets for students). Return to Math Skill Builders:Class Manager Table of Contents |
