The class status view shows the status of every student, every
skill level, in the operations and problem types you choose. To look
at the class status view at any time, choose Class Status from the
View menu, (or click the Class icon on the tool bar). Each class
status view is color-coded so that it is easy to see the level at
which each student is working. You can define the rules for
competence level and frustration level as displayed in these views
(See "Defining Criteria for Data Analysis"). To show or hide the
legend that explains the color-coding, choose View, then check Show
Legend, uncheck to hide the legend.
You can choose the operations and problem types to show in the Class Status view. This view can be set to show the status of all students:
Show class status in all operations, all problem types Each time you open Class Manager, the Class Status view opens showing all operations for all problem types (whole numbers, decimals and fractions). This is the default view for class status. To view the class status for all operations, all problem types choose Class Status on the View menu, choose All Problem Types, choose All Operations. (Or, click the class icon on the Tool Bar; click the all problem types icon, and all operations icon).
Class Status- All Operations- All Problem Types When viewing all problem types and all operations, the class status shows the status of each student. Colored rectangles represent student status as follows: Yellow: The student has had some activity in that operation in that problem type. To return to the Class Status view, from these other views, click the left arrow (go back) button on the tool bar, or select Previous View from the View menu. Show class status in all operations, one problem type To view the class status for all operations, in one problem type, do one of the following:
Class Status- All Operations- One Problem Type When viewed by problem type, the Class Status view shows details for each skill level. Colored rectangles indicate the following: Dark green: The student demonstrated competence at this skill level In addition to a color, a square may also contain an exclamation mark that indicates the program's recommended level for direct instruction and student practice for that operation. The recommended level is one level higher than the highest level at which a student has shown competence. (See "Defining Criteria for Data Analysis" for how to determine recommendations according to competence and frustration.) When the class status view is showing all operations, one problem type you can: Show the class status for just that one operation in the selected problem type.Click the operation name or choose the operation from the View menu. Show class status in one operation, one problem type To view the class status for one operation, in one problem type, do one of the following:
Class Status- One Operation- One Problem Type Return to viewing all operations by selecting All Operations on the View menu, or the click the all operations icon on the Tool bar. Order the class list In the class status view, you can order the class list by name or by skill level, depending on the current view. To change the order of the class list in the Class Status View (View->Class Status), choose Order on the menu bar. Choose Name and the list will be sorted alphabetically. Choose Skill Level, from the Order menu, and the list of students will show in order of the highest skill level each student has achieved in the operation currently selected. The class is sorted by skill levels for the selected operation. (If you are viewing an operation in a single problem type, the list is automatically sorted by skill level).
