The Class Manager program provides student level reports and class
level reports, as well as skill definition reports. Reports can be
saved, printed, or copied to be used in other programs.
To generate a report: Select the Reports menu and click the type of report you want to create. Most reports include a dialog box that allows you to specify what to include in the report. Once generated, a report is presented in a separate window, with its own menu and tool bar. To return to the main screen from a report, either close the window, or choose Exit from the File menu. To save a report: While a report is showing on the screen, choose Save from the Report's File menu. You will be prompted for what to name the report and where to save it. Reports are saved in standard text files (.txt) and can be imported into other programs. Text type reports can be imported into your text editor or word processor, and tabbed reports can be imported into your spreadsheet program. To print a report: While a report is showing on the screen, choose Print from the File menu. To copy a report: While a report is showing on the screen, choose Select All from the Edit menu. Then choose Copy. You can paste what you have copied to the desired application. The following sections describe the types of reports Class Manager creates including: Class Data Class List Report The Class List Report lists all the student names in a class. To create a class list report choose Class list from the Reports menu. The Class List Report control opens. Specify how you want the list of students ordered and sorted. The class list will appear according to your specifications. Class Status Report The Class Status Report lists the current status for each student in the class. The current status is the highest skill level at which a student has shown competence. To create a Class Status Report, choose Class Status from the Reports menu. The Class Status Report Control dialog will open. Use this dialog to customize your report. Choose problem type, operation, and sort order for the report. Class Profile Report The Class Profile Report shows how many students are working at each skill level, how many students have completed skill levels, and skill levels that have no activity. To create a Class Profile Report, select Class Profile from the Reports menu. The Class Profile Report control opens. Specify one, or all, problem types and operations to be shown on the report. Student Status Report The Student Status Report tells the recommended skill level for that student for all operations and problem types. The program recommends the skill level that is one level above the highest level at which the student has demonstrated competence. To create a Student Status report, select a student, and then choose Student Status from the Reports menu. Student History Report The Student History report provides a list of the worksheets the student has completed in a specific time period showing the date the worksheet was checked, whether it was diagnostic or practice, number of problems, percentage correct, types of problems, operations, and skill levels. To create a Student History report, select a student, and then choose Student History from the Reports menu. The student history control dialog opens. Enter the beginning and end dates for the report. The report will show a history of the student's activities between those dates. Student Progress Report The Student Progress report describes the student's progress in all problem types the student has worked. To create a Student Progress report, select a student, and then choose Student Progress from the Reports menu. The student progress control dialog opens. Enter the beginning and end dates for the report. The report will show a summary of the skill levels the student has worked on between those dates. Skill Definition Report The Skill Definition Report shows a list of the definitions of the skill levels. To create a Skill Definition Report, select Skill Definitions from Reports menu. The Skill Definition Report Control dialog opens. Specify the problem types and operations, and whether to include example problems on the report.
