Gradually add more combinations of coins for the student to count. Once students can count coins while checking with the total, turn off "Show Totals" Move coins over to the right window. Ask the student to count out the coins and tell how much is in the window. Then turn on "Show Totals" and check the student's answer. Count bills Choose the Count Money activity. Show students how to count bills by moving one type of bill from the left window to the right window. Have the student move bills and count them as they are moved to the right window. As the student counts the bills check their total with the total on the right window. When students are competent counting money with the help of the total on the bottom, turn the total off so that they have to count money independently. If they want to check their answers, they can turn the total back on. Return to the Table of Contents |
