Click the Next Customer button to begin a transaction.

The customer's money will appear in the Customer area. The customer's total charge is shown in the upper right corner of the screen. If the current mode is Count Change, the amount of cash tendered by the customer and the amount of change due is also shown.

The Directions box tells you to take the customer's money and give back change.

Take the customer's money by dragging the customer's bills from the Customer area and dropping them in the cash drawer. It is a good idea to drop the customer's money on the Cashier's Holding Tray, and not in the drawer itself. That way, there can never be any confusion about what the customer actually tendered.

Give the customer change by dragging bills and coins from the Cashier's drawer to the Customer area. If you know the amount of change to give (the mode is Count Change), it is a good idea to start with the largest bills and work toward the smallest coins. If you do not know the amount of change to give (the mode is Make Change), it is a good idea to start with the smallest coins and work toward the largest bills.

When you are sure you have given the customer the correct change, click the Check Transaction Button.
