How to Count Change

When you know the amount of change to give, you can 'count change', just like you normally count money. Start with the largest denominations and work toward the smallest denominations.

For example, if the change due is $7.28:

Give:	Say:
Five dollar bill	Five
One dollar bill	Six
One dollar bill	Seven
Quarter	Seven, twenty five
Penny	Twenty six
Penny	Twenty seven
Penny	Twenty eight
	That is seven dollars and twenty eight cents.
