By changing the criteria for Promotion and Demotion you can change the number of correct answers needed to advance a skill level, and the number of incorrect answers required to go down a skill level. The settings for promotion and demotion are the same for both Diagnosis and Practice.

  • Promotion
  • Type a percentage in the box next to Promotion to define the competence level that the learner must achieve before advancing to the next skill level. The default setting is 75%. That means that if you get at least 75% of the problems at a level correct, then you progress to the next level. To make it harder to progress, set this value to a higher number. To make it easier to progress, set this value to a lower number.

  • Demotion
  • Type a percentage in the box next to Demotion to define when to decrease the skill level. The default setting is 25%. This means that if you solve 25% or fewer of the problems correctly at a given level, the current skill level decreases to the next lower skill level.
