By changing the number of total problems in a Diagnosis, and the number of problems presented at each level, you can control the length of time and the difficulty of the testing process.
Type a number in Total Problems to set the total number of problems given during diagnosis. The default setting is 20. To get at least one problem per level, at all 13 levels in an operation, the minimum total number of problems must be at least 13. Make sure you set this number so that you can get enough problems to get to the higher levels. This number interacts with the number of problems presented at each level (see "Problems per Level" in the following paragraph). For example, if you set the total number of problems to 20, but you set the number of problems at each level to 5, you could only get up to level 4 and then Diagnosis would be over. Another example is that if you want testing at all 13 levels, and you want at least 2 problems at each level, you would have to have set the total number of problems to at least 26. Type a number in Problems Per Level to specify the minimum number of problems Math Skill Builders presents at each skill level. The default setting is one problem at each level. You get at least this minimum number of problems at each level before the program promotes or demotes you. You may get more problems at each level, but you do not get fewer. |
