Individual learning styles require different methods of instruction. Math Skill Builders carefully explains how to solve problems in the Tutor activity. To individualize these instructions, learners can:

  • Adjust the speed of the demonstration.

  • The learner can see a problem solved one step at a time, by clicking the Single Step button. The learner can also see the demonstration run straight through, without having to click a button for each step, by choosing Start Demonstration. The learner can make the demonstration run faster or slower by choosing a speed on the speed bar on the right side of the screen.

  • Choose to have both written and spoken instructions.

  • Instructions can be both read and heard. All instructions in the Tutor demonstration appear as words to read on the screen. To hear the instructions read aloud, turn on the Talk option.

  • Control the amount of repetition of instruction.

  • Learners can repeat the demonstration of the same problem, as many times as they want. They can see as many demonstrations of different problems as they want. Students can choose to repeat Tutor demonstrations as often as they want.
