You can choose these different activities to progress at your own pace through all the skill levels and all the arithmetic operations:
- You can use Diagnosis to determine your best starting skill level for each
arithmetic operation.
- You can use a Tutor that demonstrates how to solve an unlimited number of unique example problems. You can watch problems solved step by step, one number at a time. You control the talking and speed of the demonstrations. Demonstrations include visual aids at the beginning skill levels in addition and subtraction.
- You can Practice solving problems and the program will tell you if you answered correctly or not. You can have the program help you learn where to place the numbers in answers. You can practice solving problems with greater speed and accuracy by choosing to have your practice timed.
- You can print Assignments of problems so that you can practice arithmetic skills away from the computer. Math Skill Builders will Check Assignments by comparing your answers with the correct answers.
- You can look at Reports of your progress since Math Skill Builders provides record keeping of diagnostics, practices, and assignments.
- You can print lists of the definitions of the Skills in Math Skill Builders, with and without example problems.
- You can set Options to individualize your learning environment. You can let the program guide you or you can control your own advancement.
