You must save a file if you want Math Skill Builders to record and guide your progress through the skill levels. Math Skill Builders maintains a separate file for each learner.

Save your file when you want the program to start keeping records of your progress. When you start Math Skill Builders, after the startup screen shows, a box appears that asks you to choose Returning Student or New Student. Click New Student. A box appears that asks you to type your first name. Type the name you want the program to use to save your file. Then click OK. When the program begins, the main window has your name on the top. When you finish using Math Skill Builders, a box appears that asks if you want to save your work. Click Yes if you want the program to record the results of your work for that session. Click No if you do not want to save the results.

If you do not enter your name at the beginning of the program, the main window is untitled. You can still save your work from the untitled main window. Pull the File menu down from the menu bar and choose Save As. A box appears that prompts you to type the name of your file. Type your name in the box. Click the Save button to save a file with your name. This is the name Math Skill Builders uses to save your work and record your progress. The main window now shows your name on the top.
