Standards that pertain to computation of whole numbers and decimals for the state of Arizona:

Grades 1-3:
  • Demonstrate proficiency with basic facts up to 20
  • Add and subtract two three-digit whole numbers
  • Demonstrate proficiency with the operations of multiplication and division of single-digit numbers

    Grades 4-5:
  • three-digit by two-digit to find the product
  • facts through 12
  • one-digit divisor to find quotient with remainder

    Grades 6-8
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide integers, positive fractions and decimals

    Editor's note: Since Arizona gives no indication as to level of difficulty at the eighth grade, we can only assume that they intend students to be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and decimals, at any level of difficulty, by the end of grade 8.
